Coronary Artery Disease

Patient History

67 year old male with ischemic cardiomyopathy. Cardiac catheterization revealed severe 3 vessel coronary artery disease. Thallium resting study on the day of P.E.T. scan demonstrated a distal anterior and apical defect. Evaluate myocardial viability with P.E.T. imaging.

Study Findings

FDG study shows mismatch with Thallium study at the distal anterior, septal and apical regions. Glucose localization in these areas with the poor perfusion indicate viability of the distal anterior and apical regions with a potential of recovery if perfusion is maintained or improved.
