Patient History:
59 year old female with probable metestatic breast cancer.
Technique:
Patient received 10.4 mCi F-18 FDG. The study was performed with the patient in a fasting state. Following administration of 550cc of dilute oral contrast and after an uptake time of 90 minutes, PET imaging was performed from the base of the brain to the level of the mid thigh.
Findings:
Within the thorax there is a large hypermetabolic mass in the left breast extending from the skin surface and invading into the pectoralis muscle with a max SUV 10.8. On the contralateral side there is a hypermetabolic axillary mass with an SUV of 6.3. Boney mets were also found in the right femoral head extendind into the proximal femur as well as the third thoracic vertebral body.
